Try out the Amazing Places Adventure Labs! A series of fun and informative digital challenges on each of the Amazing Places. You don’t need to find a physical geocache container for these, although you do need to visit each of the Amazing Places (so you might consider doing the Geocaching Geotour at the same time).

To get started, download the app. Then, visit each site to gain access to the digital adventure lab, read the clues, and correctly answer each question for the win. It’s less physical and challenging than the Geotour, but just as fun and a great way to experience and learn about the Amazing Places.

Learn more by downloading the app to your smart device, or by visiting the Geocaching Adventure Lab website.

Ecosystems

In this adventure, you’ll visit Englishman River Falls Provincial Park, Top Bridge Regional Trail, and Notch Hill to learn about the land, soil, air and living things that make up some of the 600 different types of ecosystems and 14 biogeoclimatic zones in BC.

Watersheds

The Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region is defined by the boundaries of five watersheds. Visit MacMillan Provincial Park (Cathedral Grove), Cameron Lake, and Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park to discover how the land captures and directs the rain and snow that shapes the rivers, creeks, marshes, lakes, groundwater and oceans that form our landscape.

Humans and Nature

Biosphere reserves are all about sustainability, and striking a balance between humans and nature. In this adventure, you’ll visit Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, Parksville Community Park, Heritage Forest, and Milner Gardens & Woodland to discover the importance of protecting and visiting natural spaces.
